Margaret Pressler , Senior Editor
Margaret Pressler is senior editor at Cipher based in Washington, D.C. She is a longtime business and science journalist and has worked in multiple media formats.
Margaret spent the majority of her career at The Washington Post as a reporter and editor. She was in the business news section for many years, specializing in retail and consumer-focused industries, consumer behavior and entrepreneurship, for which she was recognized with several awards. She spent four years producing and delivering business news on News4Today, the early morning news show on the NBC affiliate in the Washington area. She contributed a daily early-morning column on the stock market to washingtonpost.com.
Also at the Post, Margaret spent several years writing and editing for the paper’s KidsPost section, where she was able to cover many scientific subjects she cared about. It was in this role that she honed the craft of taking complex topics and making them understandable and interesting for a wide-ranging audience.
Margaret has also done a great deal of public speaking and freelance work editing books, articles and papers as well as television production and hosting. She is the author of Cheat the Clock: How New Science Can Help You Look and Feel Younger.
Margaret has three children in college and graduate school and lives in Washington, D.C. with her two cats.
