Eni, one of Europe’s largest companies, has signed a 20-year agreement to buy American LNG as U.S. President Donald Trump calls on the continent to boost imports to avoid tariffs, Politico reported.

First questions on my mind: will this affect energy prices across Europe (positively or negatively)? Does Europe really need it? And will it play its role in avoiding a full out trade war?
